Migrate from StatusCake

RealUptime's importer connects to StatusCake's own API with a key you create, reads your uptime tests, and shows a preview before anything is created. HTTP and HEAD tests come across in one step; TCP, DNS, SMTP, SSH, ping and push tests are listed so you can recreate them by hand.

Already have a RealUptime account? Open Import from another service and paste a read-only StatusCake API key to bring your monitors across.

Rather send us the list? Email it to support@realuptime.io and we will import it within 48 hours.

Create a StatusCake API key

In StatusCake, open Account, API Keys and create a key. RealUptime's importer sends it once, as a Bearer token, to StatusCake's own GET https://api.statuscake.com/v1/uptime, and reads back each test's name, type, URL and check rate. The key is used for that one read and is not saved anywhere.

Import the tests into RealUptime

On the dashboard's Import page, choose StatusCake and paste the key. You get a preview of every uptime test before anything is created. HTTP and HEAD tests import directly, with their check rate. Every other test type stays in the preview, flagged as not imported, so nothing silently disappears.

Recreate the other test types

TCP, DNS, SMTP and ping tests map to the same check types here; create each with the same target. An SSH test becomes a TCP check on its port. A push test is a heartbeat: create one with the same schedule and point the job's ping at its address. StatusCake's separate SSL and domain monitoring needs nothing extra, because certificate and domain expiry are tracked on every HTTPS check. The table below maps every StatusCake test type.

Feature mapping

StatusCake check types, mapped to RealUptime Monitor

HTTP, HEAD

http · Have

Imported directly by the importer.

TCP

tcp · Have

Recreate by hand with the same host and port.

DNS

dns · Have

Recreate by hand with the same hostname and record.

SMTP

smtp · Have

Recreate by hand; it reads the greeting and completes EHLO.

SSH

tcp · Partial

A TCP check on the SSH port proves it accepts connections.

Ping

ping · Partial

Round-trip time and loss over an echo probe, not raw ICMP.

Push

heartbeat · Have

Recreate as a heartbeat and repoint the ping.

SSL and domain monitoring

http · Have

Expiry is tracked on HTTPS checks; nothing to recreate.

Page speed

No equivalent · Don’t have

RealUptime records response timing, not a page-speed score.

What comes with the account here is all four products, not just the checks you are importing. RealUptime Monitor is the uptime, heartbeat and server side, free for 10 monitors and 5 servers. RealUptime Status is the public page those checks feed. RealUptime Errors catches the application exceptions an uptime check cannot see, free for 10,000 events a month. RealUptime Outages is the free public tracker for the vendors you depend on, which needs no account at all. One signup provisions the free tier of each, with no card.
