Migrate from Better Stack

RealUptime's importer connects to Better Stack's own Uptime API with a token you create, reads your monitors, and shows a preview before anything is created. HTTP monitors come across in one step; everything else is listed so you can see what to rebuild by hand.

Create a Better Stack Uptime API token

In Better Stack, open your team's API tokens page and create an Uptime API token. RealUptime's importer sends it once, as a Bearer token, to Better Stack's own GET https://uptime.betterstack.com/api/v2/monitors, and reads back each monitor's name, URL, type and check frequency. The token is used for that one read and is not saved anywhere.

Import the monitors into RealUptime

On the dashboard's Import page, choose Better Stack and paste the token. You get a preview of every monitor before anything is created. Better Stack's plain HTTP monitors (the "status" and "expected status code" types) import directly, with their check frequency. Every other type stays in the preview, flagged as not imported, so nothing silently disappears; those you add by hand, or in bulk from a CSV file on the same page.

Map each monitor type

The table below maps Better Stack's monitor types onto RealUptime's check types. Where there is nothing to map to, it says so.

What comes with the account here is all four products, not just the checks you are importing. RealUptime Monitor is the uptime and server side, free for 10 monitors and 5 servers. RealUptime Status is the public page those checks feed. RealUptime Errors catches the application exceptions an uptime check cannot see, free for 10,000 events a month. RealUptime Outages is the free public tracker for the vendors you depend on, which needs no account at all. One signup provisions the free tier of each, with no card.
