1. Create a webhook in the Google Chat space
In Google Chat, open the space, then Apps & integrations, then Webhooks, and add one. Copy the URL it gives you: it starts with https://chat.googleapis.com/ and its key and token are the credential, so treat it like a password. RealUptime accepts only chat.googleapis.com addresses for this channel.
2. Register it under Account settings > Notifications
Add a channel, choose Google Chat, paste the webhook URL and give it a name such as #errors-prod. Use Send test: a message lands in the space and the channel shows as verified. The same channel can also carry uptime alerts from Monitor.
3. Point an alert rule at it
In Errors settings, open your project's Alert rules. Create or edit a rule (New issue, Regression, Occurrence spike or Threshold breach), switch its destination from the project's alert routing to its own channels, and tick the Google Chat channel. Alert rules are available on every plan, Free included.
4. Already on Sentry's SDK? Keep it
Errors accepts the Sentry SDK protocol, so the only code change is the DSN: Sentry.init({ dsn: "https://<key>@ingest.realuptime.io/<key>" }), using the Sentry-shaped DSN from your project's settings. Every event it sends can now alert into Google Chat.
5. What arrives in the space
A plain-text message with the alert title in bold and its details underneath. Google Chat caps a message at 4,096 characters, and anything longer is cut with a visible ellipsis rather than dropped.
