How this comparison works
Sentry publishes named plans, each with an included monthly error volume and a lookback window, and meters everything past that quota with pay-as-you-go billing. The calculator picks the cheapest published plan whose included volume and lookback both cover the numbers you entered. It does not price the meter: the per-event rate is not a figure recorded here, and a made-up rate would be the most misleading number on the page.
RealUptime Errors picks the cheapest rung whose event allowance and retention window cover the same numbers. Its plan price is the ceiling unless you turn on overage, so the comparison is a fixed monthly price against a plan price plus whatever the meter adds in the month something goes wrong.
Where these numbers come from
Sentry figures were read from its own pages on October 5, 2026. Pricing pages change; if a figure looks out of date, treat theirs as current. Enterprise is priced by quote, so it has no number here. RealUptime numbers come from the module that enforces our quotas, so the allowance shown is the allowance the product actually applies.

Is Sentry free?

What counts as an event in Sentry?
Sentry's documentation defines an event as one instance of you sending data to Sentry, excluding attachments. An error is captured when something looks like an exception, including uncaught exceptions and unhandled rejections. Its billing documentation counts errors, logs, spans, replays, profiles and other categories separately, and says events and attachments over a quota are not accepted unless a pay-as-you-go budget covers them. The pricing page itself does not define an event more narrowly than that.
Does Sentry charge for errors past the included amount?
Sentry's documentation describes a pay-as-you-go budget for usage past the reserved quota, and says data beyond the budget is dropped rather than billed. The pricing page states no per-error rate for that budget, so this calculator does not price it.
How does RealUptime Errors pricing compare?
